NSW COVID update on Thursday sees more than 200 new cases recorded as extended lockdown kicks in

NSW has recorded another 239 new cases of coronavirus as the extended lockdown in Greater Sydney kicks in.

The number of new cases is a record high for the current outbreak.

Of the new cases announced on Thursday, at least 70 were infectious in the community.
